About
Welcome to Dock Street Coffee Shop, a cozy haven nestled at 2 Dock St, Edgartown, MA 02539. Known for its intimate atmosphere and friendly service, this independent, family-run establishment is a must-visit for both locals and visitors to Martha's Vineyard.
What makes Dock Street truly special? The answer is in its warmth and charm. As one delighted customer, G Taylor Johnson, aptly puts it, this spot is akin to the beloved bar in "Cheers," where "everyone knows your name." Here, each meal feels personal, making every visit a delightful experience.
The early hours at Dock Street are a culinary revelation, with options to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. As Kevin Romer shared, the egg, cheese, and ham on an English muffin was a "home run," and the steaming coffee will definitely please your palate.
Each dish is crafted with care, ensuring freshness and flavor in every bite. Regulars rave about the nourishing, tasty meals served up with a side of warm hospitality. Paul Cummings remarked on the friendly and efficient staff, emphasizing how the small size of the diner adds to its charm rather than detracts from it.
Diners enjoy a unique ambiance where you're encouraged to strike up a chat with the owner, Emily, who infuses her warmth into every interaction. Zoe Miller described Dock Street as "the cutest diner," praising the fast service and great music that enhances the dining experience.

“ This is a true Vineyard story. I love this place. Intimate and friendly. They do take plastic now; no longer cash only. ”
“ This independent family-run business has been one of my regular stops at least once every time I am visiting Martha's Vineyard. The food is nourishing and tasty, the service friendly and fast. Every time I have been eating there, there have been other people who have come in the door and been welcomed by name, asked if they want the usual or a specific alternative, and so on. It is a place like the bar in Cheers, "where everyone knows your name." I love that about it. ”
“ Great place for breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff. What they lack in size they more than make up for with service, hospitality and ambiance. ”
“ This place is so cool— the cutest diner. The owner Emily chatted with us about the area and was so friendly and kind. The food was great and affordable! Super fast service and a great music selection / atmosphere. ”
“ Later light breakfast was the goal and DSCS did not disappoint. As the pickiest customer there is, i ordered a egg, cheese and ham on an english muffin... BAM... out of the park!!! Home fries were okay, but very hot and the coffee did not disappoint. Seating is limited to maybe 12-15 (didnt really count) so you might wait or have to accept take out...but do not miss this gem!!! ”
“ Awesome diner with good food and great people. The staff was very friendly and seemed like they genuinely loved what they did. Especially the very energetic and seemingly in charge woman that was directing the rest of staff while she cooked. It was an enjoyable atmosphere with very reasonable prices. I had the French toast and bacon. It was more food than I expected. I left very satisfied. 10 out of 10 would recommend. ”
“ Great service and good food! I didn’t know they only accept cash and I don’t have any cash with me but Mary is so nice, she said I can mail them a check after I go back Palm Beach or come back other days to pay back the bill. Oh god, it’s my first time didn’t pay my food lol. Nice people everywhere so I gave her a big hug and lots of thanks! ”
“ Great place. No frills. Foods excellent. ”
